I'm In, what now?

Green Ribbon Week is not possible without you! Your ideas, efforts and enthusiasm make the difference that drives the campaign and brings hope to the lives of children devastated by war.

Become an MH Volunteer!

Every year there is a steady stream of fundraising ideas from the simple to elaborate to wacky. We can provide you with the materials and advice you need and you can involve friends and family too. Here are some ideas for fundraising:

  • Why not organise a non-uniform day at school? Every pupil can donate a few pounds to dress in green clothes, wear green socks, green ribbons or even paint their faces green!
  • Raise money at home or at work by inviting family, friends or workmates to donate a few pounds to enjoy a tasty meal. You could give a short talk about the suffering of children in warzones and tell them how their money can make a real difference.
  • Get sponsored for walking, running, cycling...anything! People have already jumped off aeroplanes, cycled across cities, bungee-jumped and even walked The Great Wall of China to raise money for Green Ribbon Week.

For Schools

Inside are ideas on how your school can participate from:

  • Stand up for children: Write now! Enter your class into the national GRW creative writing competition, entry and competition details are in the pack.
  • Green Ribbon Week cake sales: Hold a cake sale to help raise funds for projects that help children of war. We’ve got recipes, tips and tricks to help you get the most out of your cupcakes.
  • Green Ribbon sales: Sell green ribbons to staff, children and parents to show support for the cause with all money going towards children of war.
  • Be Seen in Green! Hold a non uniform day at school with a Green Ribbon theme.

Don't forget!

Two very important things for you to know about are Justgiving & your chance to get tailor made feedback!

  • Justgiving
Justgiving is one of the easiest ways to collect money from your friends and family. You create an online fundraising page with your charity’s name and logo, and email it to everyone you know. Your friends, family and colleagues donate by credit or debit card. JustGiving automatically reclaim the Gift Aid. Justgiving pay into your charity’s account and give you all the reports you need.
  • Tailor Made Feedback
Take advantage of the opportunity to have a bespoke feedback report to show the impact of all the hard work your students have put in. Our team work with local field offices in over 40 countries and have close ‘on the ground’ access to the projects which are being carried out. You can request examples of previous kinds of feedback to see what they typically contain from us.
